Spanish Cooking Project

The kitchen can offer us the opportunity as teachers to carry out different teaching-learning methodologies. Today's students demand from us, as teachers, new challenges that inspire learning in a more playful way. This is how cooking offers us the opportunity to connect curricular contents with novel and fun situations for students.

International Cultural Fair

The main aim of this project was to create a cultural exhibition of different countries and show it to the entire school community; a proposal that promotes a positive and enriching vision towards the cultural diversity within the institution, and one that can be replicated at a macro level (country).

In this initiative, students from Spanish, German, English and Arts contributed with a cultural grain to this international fair. Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Perú, Spain, Mexico, Germany, Austria, U.S.A. and England were leading this project from their corresponding Modern Language subjects, thanks to 7th and 6th graders that showed various cultural aspects of each country such as traditional dishes, dances, games, sports, and also their geography.

Weather Forecast Project

This project worked as a fun excuse for students to put all their knowledge into practice, regarding vocabulary related to weather and also the simple present tense of numerous Spanish verbs.

In previous projects I helped my students with the edition of the videos, but this time I preferred to stay away from that and let them use their own ICT skills. The result? This amazing and creative video! :)

Family Tree Project

The 7th graders were able to choose their visual support for their presentations. Some of them decided to present their Family Tree with a colourful cardboard, some others with Google Slide, and one of them with MineCraft, which due to GDPR I'm not able to show it.

Either one way or another, all of them did an amazing job, not only with the visual support but also with the production of their writings!

Pascualinos VMAs 2015
Pascualinos VMAs 2016

Pascualinos Video Music Awards was held just in 2015 because of the great video clip project carried out in 2014 by students from 4th grade. This time I decided to make of this an annual global project where all classes got the chance to prove how talented all they really are. Despite the fact it was a competition, they all had fun by accomplishing this task.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: Spoken Novel
The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland: Spoken Novel

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: Spoken Novel and The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland: Spoken Novel had as the main goal to go beyond the curriculum framework of the English subject, considering the development of soft skills in my students from 4th grade. At first glance, it might seem a simple job, but it definitely was not; teamwork, organization, leadership, and responsibility were present throughout all the process.

Talent Show

IAPB's Got Talent is a show where students from IAPB and also from other schools (from Calle Larga) had the chance to demonstrate which their talents were. This event is part of a series of initiatives under the English teaching framework. The Talent Show is part of a vision of education where learning foreign languages are seen as an essential tool for the students' cultural openness.

Exhibitions

Pascualino: Branches of Knowledge was a chance for Matías Cortés, Hugo Figueroa, Jesus Perez, Maricel Cuevas, Barbara Contreras and Victor Salas, to make a flawless presentation exposing some subjects that correspond to the technical area, explaining what the purpose of each is and getting deeper into the importance of the agricultural sector in the national economy by encouraging primary school children to learn a bit about the units of the agricultural institute.

On the other hand, Lizbeth Jara and Benjamin Oyarzo participated in the Spelling Bee contest, where Benjamin proudly wears the medal that identifies him as the winner in his category.
