This is me

Learning by doing fits me best

I used to work at Instituto Agrícola Pascual Baburizza, where I've faced a new way of teaching. IAPB belongs to Fundación Educacional Luksic and has been developing the SERF methodology since 2013; so the main objective of this school is to make students create their own knowledge by doing, through the acquisition of different skills which are supported by the specialist (teacher).

I studied at UCSC to become a teacher of English and make some changes about education wherever I'd be working. Having studied Pedagogía en Inglés en Educación Media helped me giving me tools to become an honest, hard-working professional with enough energy and knowledge to make those changes at the two schools where I've worked so far.

My Professional Teaching Practicum was held at CEIA MASS during the second semester of 2012 and then I was hired to work there in 2013 as both teacher of English and teacher of TICs. It was a new and great experience getting involved in an environment in which most of the students were adults, where I had to face different realities inside the classroom considering age and social and economic status.

Working at Instituto Agrícola Pascual Baburizza has been such a great challenge; it is due to facing new methodologies of teaching and new student profiles taking into consideration that most of them come from the countryside or vulnerable zones.

During the first semester of 2014, I was chosen by Myriam Riquelme (school principal) to participate in the collection of evidence for Plan de Mejoramiento Estudiantil (PME). On the other hand, during the second semester, I was invited by Grupo Educativo to be part of the English curriculum construction. The latter will be used by all the teachers of English who are working at the different schools in Chile with the SERF methodology from March 2015.

Despite the fact that I hold a Master Degree in Communication and Education (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), I have been out of the Education field since March 2017. This is basically because I decided to travel the world, knowing different cultures and being open to receive their contributions to my mindset as well as the knowledge Scandinavian countries, such as Denmark and Sweden, have changed my way of thinking. While doing this, I would like to get in touch with some International Schools and work as a Spanish Teacher, so we might get some intercultural exchange...

...Does it sound interesting to you?
